Dave Farraday begins his 16th year with the JU athletics department and his seventh as the senior associate athletics director.
In his current role, Farraday is responsible for all internal operations within the athletic department, dealing heavily in finances and event management.
Farraday began his tenure at JU as the director of facilities and operations, overseeing the construction of the Ashley Sports Complex, D.B. Milne Field and track & field facilities, as well as the Fieldhouse.
No stranger to construction, Farraday worked previously at UNC-Charlotte as the director of recereational, physical education and athletic multi-use facilities. During his two-plus years at UNCC, Farraday was responsible for the construction of the 9,000-seat, multi-purpose James H. Barnhard Student Activity Center and the development of a new division within the Department of Student Life and Facility Managmenet responsible for the operation of the new facility.
Farraday began his career in facility and sport managment with the now-defunct North American Soccer League (NASL), working with franchises in Washington D.C. and Jacksonville, Fla.
After the Jacksonville NASL team folded in 1983, Farraday was hired as the City of Jacksonville Sports Complex Ticket Manager, followed by a six-year stint as manager of the old Veteran's Memorial Coliseum.
In 1992, Farraday was hired by Spectacor Management Group as Sports Complex Director. In this position, Farraday was responsible for the operation of Jacksonville's 10,000-seat Coliseum (the former home of JU basketball), the old 7,000-seat Wolfson Park, and the 80,000-seat Gator Bowl (now Alltel Stadium).
A Pennsylvania native, Farraday graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn., with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
