COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR Nathan Wood

In his role as compliance coordinator, Wood is responsible for facilitating proper implementation and execution of NCAA, Atlantic Sun and institutional bylaws along with eligibility rules. Wood coordinates the preparation of NCAA squad lists and eligibility certifications, monitors off-campus recruiting activities, telephone logs, student-athlete promotional activities and student-athlete employment.

Wood also oversees sports camps and clinics, approves playing and practice seasons, provides interpretations to coaches and university administrators. Additionally, he trains and supervises the compliance externs.

Before making his way to the First Coast, Wood was a legal assistant at Nelson & Frankenberger, P.C. in Indianapolis, Ind., the education director at the Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Goshen Area, and was a teaching assistant in the Elkhart Community School System. While in law school, Wood served as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow. He also interned at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, and provided supervised representation at Three Rivers Legal Services.

Wood is a native of Nappanee, Ind. and received his Bachelor's degree in public affairs from Indiana University in 2004. He earned his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2010, receiving Pro Bono Honors and certificates in sports law and legal writing and research. Wood has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2010.
