Marci Hoppa

Marci Hoppa joined the JU Staff in March 2013 as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach directly over seeing the programs for Women’s Soccer, Softball, Volleyball, Track & Field and Men’s and Rowing. In July 2013 Hoppa was moved to the Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports and is responsible for the JU strength and conditioning internship programs.  Hoppa comes to the Dolphins after Volunteer Coaching at the University of Alabama from 2012-2013. While with the Crimson Tide, Hoppa was responsible for assisting with the Women’s Tennis Team, Women’s Rowing Team, Men’s and Women’s Swim and Dive, and Women’s Volleyball Team.

Prior to Alabama, Hoppa worked as a Graduate Assistant Strength Coach at Northern Illinois University where she was directly responsible for Women’s Soccer, Women’s gymnastics, and Men’s and Women’s Golf. While at NIU, Hoppa also assisted with the Huskie Football Team and Women’s Basketball Team. Hoppa also was an intern coach at the University of Georgia from 2007-2009 where she assisted with Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Track, and Women’s Gymnastics. 

Hoppa earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 2009 from the University of Georgia and her Masters in Exercise Physiology in 2012 from Northern Illinois University. Hoppa is certified with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach’s Association (SCCC), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS),  and USA weight lifting (USAW level 1 sports performance coach).
