Logan Hundley enters his first season as volunteer assistant coach on the JU baseball staff. In his role, Hundley will work with the catchers, infielders and hitters while also assisting with day-to-day operations of the baseball program.

Hundley comes to JU after spending the 2012 season at Northwest Florida College in Niceville, Fla. The Raiders posted a 30-19 record and 12-9 mark in conference play to earn a spot into the state tournament.

Prior to Northwest Florida College, Hundley was an assistant coach at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2011. The Bulldogs made the playoffs and the state tournament for the first time two years. Under his guidance, MCCC had six players move onto four-year universities.

Hundley began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, the University of West Florida, from 2009-10. The Argonauts posted 30 wins each season, including a 36-win campaign in 2010 to earn a trip to the NCAA regionals. They were also ranked in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Top 30 during the season. While at UWF, Hundley coached seven players who were later selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

As a player at UWF, Hundley played a key role as one of the team's primary catchers. During his senior season in 2007, he helped the squad to their first Gulf South Conference championship and NCAA Regional appearance by hitting a .269 with eight doubles and 11 RBIs. As a junior, he appeared in 32 games (13 starts) and he batted .444 (8-18) in 11 conference games. Prior to UWF, he played two seasons at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, Ala.

Hundley received his bachelor’s in sports management from UWF in 2007 and his master’s in physical education in 2010. Hundley and his wife, Carrie, live in Jacksonville.
