Stewart joins the JU staff after spending the last three years at her alma mater, Georgia Tech, as an academic coach and assistant director of basketball operations.

With the Yellow Jackets, she assisted student-athletes with their academic progress in 2010-11, while also helping with initial eligibility certification of prospective student-athletes.

Stewart returned to the Atlanta campus on the basketball operations staff in May 2008 and coordinated practice times, assisted with scouting and oversaw film exchange. She also served as the summer camp director of MaChelle Joseph’s Basketball Camps.

Prior to Georgia Tech, she was the head basketball coach at Agnes Scott College during the 2007-08 season after serving as an assistant coach for the two previous years. She led the squad to a 17-9 record, the best mark in school history, for a second place finish in the regular season.

The Scotties posted a 33-22 record during Stewart’s tenure as an assistant, including the program’s first appearance in the Great South Athletic Conference Championship Game in 2006.

As a student-athlete, Stewart played on the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team from 1999-04, earning Atlantic Coast all-conference honors as a junior and senior. In the career book, she ranks third all-time in assists (505) and fourth in free throw percentage (.777, 269-346).

Stewart became just the second tech player in school history to earn a triple double (11 pts., 10 rbs. & 11 asts.) on Jan. 30, 2001 against Charleston Southern. She was also the first player in ACC history to accomplish the feat coming off of the bench.

Following her collegiate career, she traveled to Keflavik, Iceland to play professionally. She helped her team win the Icelandic Championship and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.

A native of Norcross, Ga., Stewart earned her bachelor's degree in international affairs in 2004.
