Baseball announces X-Mas Pitching Clinic on Dec. 5-6
The JU baseball team has announced the addition of the Tim Montez Advanced Pitching X-Mas Clinic on Saturday, Dec. 5 and Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at John Sessions Stadium.
Run by pitching guru Tim Montez, this camp is designed for players interested in intensified pitching instruction from one of the top pitching coaches in the nation. This advanced pitching clinic is a perfect tune-up for the high school player for the upcoming Spring season.
It will cover all of the drills, and mental training that the Dolphin pitching staff currently goes through. It will also include weight training and special stretching exercises that will foster healthy arm care. There will also be digital video-taping to analyze each pitchers mechanics. This clinic has a limited enrollment to insure that each pitcher receives the individual attention needed over the two day period to improve their game.
Montez, who has 18 years of experience at the Division I level (JU, Fresno State, Arkansas, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Northridge, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine), has had 31 pitchers sign professional contracts and has coached six current Major League pitchers: Matt Garza (Fresno State), Doug Fister (Fresno State), Cliff Lee (Arkansas), Justin Lehr (UC Santa Barbara), Russ Ortiz (Montclair HS) and Barry Zito (UC Santa Barbara).
