After two successful signing classes, the JU baseball team adds another arm to its arsenal for 2009 with the addition of pitcher Christopher Kaminski (Richmond, Texas) on Tuesday.

Kaminski, a starter and closer at Weatherford Junior College in 2008, finished his freshman campaign with a 6-0 record, four saves, a 3.86 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 63 innings as he helped the Coyotes to a 35-17 overall record. He also had an impressive 1.69 ERA during North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) action.

"We are extremely excited to be able to add an arm of Chris’s caliber this late in the summer,” said JU head coach Terry Alexander. “He comes from a good program and has been well coached. Chris should add some much needed depth to our staff, especially with us playing five games a week. He is a strong competitor, attacks the zone, and most importantly, is a solid student in the classroom. He should come in right away and compete for some hard fought innings."

In his prep career, he earned second team all-district honors and was named to the Houston Area HS All-Star Game after completing his senior season at Foster High School.
