Andrew named A-Sun "Pitcher of the Week"
Junior pitcher Carson Andrew was named Atlantic Sun Conference “Pitcher of the Week” after leading the Dolphins to a 10-2 win over No. 25 Michigan at the JU Invitational.

The emerging ace of the staff, Andrew led the Dolphins to a doubleheader split with the Wolverines by allowing only one run on five hits and striking out six in five innings of work.

“Carson has always had the ability to be the ace of our staff but coming off of surgery prior to his freshman year slowed his progress,” said JU head coach Terry Alexander. “Now he is completely healthy and he is blossoming into the player we always projected him to be. We look forward to seeing more good things from as the season progresses.”

Andrew opened the year by allowing two runs on four hits while walking two and striking out three in a predetermined start against FIU (four innings).

He currently leads the staff with a 2-0 record, a 3.00 ERA and nine innings pitched.

The Dolphins will host No. 5 Florida State at John Sessions Stadium on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The contest will be the first radio broadcast of the year on 1010XL with Barry Milligan calling all of the action.
