JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--- The Georgia Southern Eagles (19-9) defeated the JU Dolphins (10-19) 8-4 in non-conference play at John Sessions Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Eagles scored single runs in the first and second to jump out to a 2-0 lead.

The Dolphins answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second. Braddock Rowe (Jacksonville, Fla./South Georgia College) led of the inning with a single to right. Josh Baker (Sussex, Wis./University School) followed with a single up the middle. Following an Ethan Loosen (Uniondale, N.Y./FSCJ) sacrifice Rowe scored on a passed ball. Nate Ricci (Madison, Wis./LaFollette) then followed with an RBI single to knot the score at 2-2.

Georgia Southern answered back with two more runs in the top of the third on two hits and a costly wild pitch.

The Dolphins pushed across a run in the bottom of the fifth. Rowe singled and scored on a double by Loosen cutting the lead to 4-3.

The Eagles responded with three runs on two hits and one costly error in the top of the sixth and followed with an insurance run in the seventh to go ahead 8-3.

The Dolphins added a run in the bottom of the seventh when Brady North (Tampa, Fla./Hillsboro CC) walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He then scored on an RBI single by Rowe to round out the scoring at 8-4.

Adam Maxon (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo) (1-1) was charged with the loss. Maxon went 2 1/3 innings allowing four runs while striking out four.

Braddock Rowe finished the night going 4 for 5 with an RBI to lead the Dolphins.
