Three Dolphins Receive Atlantic Sun Post Season Awards

DELAND, Fla.- The Atlantic Sun Conference announced it’s post-season awards on Tuesday afternoon and three Dolphins were recognized.

Senior Jake Huxtable (Winter Springs, Fla./Santa Fe College) was named to the Atlantic Sun Academic All Conference team. Huxtable graduated with a 3.52 GPA majoring in communications. The second baseman also tied for the team lead in hitting at .304. ““We are very proud of Jake for his outstanding work both on and off the field, and especially in the classroom. For the past two years Jake has been a stellar scholar athlete, and truly represents what a student-athlete is all about. “ Added Coach Tim Montez.

Dolphin junior right-hander Chris Anderson (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) was selected as a member of the Second Team All Conference. Anderson was dominating at times finishing with a 2.49 ERA and striking out 101 during the 2013 campaign. “Chris had an outstanding year, and we are proud of his accomplishments both on and off the field. He has worked extremely hard since his freshman year on becoming a complete pitcher. He has a lot to look forward to in next month’s MLB draft, and we wish him the very best” said Montez.

Rounding out the Dolphins receiving accolades was Dylan Dillard (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola). Dillard was chosen to All Freshman team. Dillard finished the season tied with Braddock Rowe (Jacksonville, Fla./South Georgia College) and Huxtable for the team lead in batting average at .304. ”Dylan was truly a bright spot for us this year offensively, and we look forward to him being a leader next year both on and off the field. He has developed nicely in our program and look forward to his continued growth” said Coach Tim Montez.
