JU took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second when Jamieson scored from first on multiple GSU errors and freshman Matt Lopez (Oviedo, Fla.) drove in a run with a double to right-center field. After Jamieson led off with a base hit to short, sophomore Logan James (Clearwater, Fla.) hit a high bouncer towards the hole on the right side. Battisto attempted to cover the bag, but the throw went wide up the first base line. Battisto recovered the ball and tried to gun down James at second, but the throw went into to center, allowing Jamieson to score. Lopez followed with a double to right center to score James from third.

Georgia Southern took a 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth after a solo home run to left by Logan Phillips, a three-run homer to dead center by Flint Wipke, an RBI single down the right-field line by Brent Stephens and a sacrifice fly to right by James Payne.
