Baseball contest against Florida State postponed due to lightning

ATHENS, Ga. - Things weren't final but the JU baseball team trails Florida State, 18-0, in the top of the eighth inning with the contest being postponed to tomorrow at 9 a.m. due to lightning in the area. The Dolphins and Seminoles were the first game of the 2006 NCAA Regionals at Foley Field.
The game was delayed a total of two hours and 16 minutes due to inclement weather and lightning. The contest will be continued at 9 a.m. with No. 1 Georgia/No. 4 Sacred Heart playing at 11 a.m.
FSU jumped out to an early 6-0 in the bottom of the first when Dennis Guinn drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk, Travis Anderson hit an RBI grounder to third, Ryan Strauss drove in a run with a fielder's choice to short and Tony Thomas, Jr. hit a three-run homer to left field.
The Seminoles made it 7-0 in the bottom of the third when Shane Robinson hit an RBI grounder to short after Thomas, Jr. led off the inning with a double to the right-field corner.
FSU made it 10-0 in the fourth when Anderson hit a two-run double to right center and Strauss followed with an RBI double to left center.
The Seminoles increased the lead to 16-0 in the fifth inning when Robinson led off the inning with a solo home run to left field, Anderson hit an RBI single to center, Strauss drove in two runs with a double left center and Thomas, Jr. hit an RBI grounder to third.
FSU made it 17-0 in the sixth when Strauss hit an RBI single to center. The Seminoles added another run in the seventh when Josh Spivey hit a solo home run to right center.
