AS A FRESHMAN (2010): Appeared in 54 games, including 52 starts in center field...named first team Freshman All-America by Louisville Slugger...also named second team Freshman All-America by NCBWA and Ping!Baseball.com...garnered A-Sun “Freshman of the Year” accolades while also being named first team all-conference and all-freshman...ranked fourth in A-Sun in on-base percentage (.498) and walks (39) and seventh with .391 batting average...batted 3-for-5 with with a double, a home run and a season-high four RBI vs. Belmont (3/14)...went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three RBI vs. Valparaiso (3/19)...batted 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and two RBI at Florida A&M (5/5)...tallied his first collegiate double vs. College of Charleston (2/23)...hit his first career home run vs. No. 20 Oklahoma (2/27)...registered his first triple at Bethune-Cookman (3/3)...led the squad against right-handed pitchers (.416), with runners in scoring position (.400), success advancing runners (.582) and multi-hit games (26)...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the President’s List with a 4.0 gpa...during the summer, he helped the Licking County Settlers reach the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League title game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year starter as an outfielder for David Kolander at Fox Valley Lutheran High School…finished career with 126 hits and 22 home runs...as a senior, he earned first team all-state, all-area, all-conference and was named Eastern Valley Conference “Player of the Year” after batting .570 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI, a 1.234 slugging percentage and a .681 on-base percentage...as as junior, he earned first team all conference, all-area and all-state honors after batting .514 with 37 runs, 11 doubles, six home runs, a .614 on-base percentage and a .986 slugging percentage...as a sophomore, he helped the Foxes to a sectional and regional title as well as a spot in the state tournament...earned first team all-conference, all-area and honorable mention all-state accolades after batting .431 with 32 runs five home runs a .553 on-base percentage and an .806 slugging percentage...as a freshman, he was named second team all-conference after batting .426 with a .556 on-base percentage and a .704 slugging percentage...was also a three-year starter for the football team as a running back/defensive back...earned highest honors for eight semesters, member of the National Honors Society and was a Rotary Club Outstanding Student-Athlete.
PERSONAL: Born Jan. 5, 1991, in Appleton, Wis…son of Richard and Susan…has a brother, Jon, who is a pitcher on the Valparaiso baseball team…major is exercise science.
