AS A REDSHIRT-SOPHOMORE (2009): Appeared in 23 games, including nine starts (eight at catcher, one as the designated hitter)...led the bench with a career-best .320 batting average and 25 total bases...batted a career-high 3-for-3 with three runs and a double vs. Mercer (5/11)...went 2-for-3 with his first collegiate home run in his first start against Wisconsin-Milwaukee (3/1)...hit his second home run and tallied two RBI vs. UCF (3/25)...went 2-for-5 with two RBI vs. Dallas Baptist (3/16)...batted .444 (4-9) as a pinch hitter...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors. AS A REDSHIRT-FRESHMAN (2008): Appeared in 13 games, including one start at catcher...tallied his first collegiate hit against ETSU (3/20)...drove in a season-high two RBI at Bethune-Cookman (4/15)...went 1-for-2 and scored a season-high two runs against Georgia Southern (4/30)...earned his first collegiate start at Dallas Baptist (5/10)...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean’s List. AS A FRESHMAN (2007): Sat out the season as a redshirt...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the President’s Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA. HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year starter at Mount Vernon High School as a catcher for James Linza…as a junior, he earned All-Northern Virginia Regional and all-district honors after leading the Majors with a .567 on-base percentage while committing only one error in 187 total chances…also ranked second on the squad with a .429 batting average, 30 hits and 23 runs to lead the squad to a third-straight district title…as a sophomore, he was named to the all-district team after leading the squad with a .541 on-base percentage…also led the Majors to their second-consecutive district championship…as a freshman, he earned all-district honors after committing only one error behind the dish in 183 total chances, while throwing out 41 percent of base runners…also led the squad to a district title…in AAU action, he batted .388 with a .600 slugging percentage and committed only two errors in 197 total chances for his American Legion Post 24 team, and lead his select AAU team to a second-place finish in the national championship tournament in Tempe, Ariz…graduated in the top 15 percent of his class with a 3.38 GPA while also garnering academic honor roll honors each year.
