Named to the Atlantic Sun Conference all-preseason team as a catcher.
As a junior (2008): Top offensive weapon for JU in his first year with the program...started in all 54 games he appeared in (30 at catcher, 12 at first base, 12 as designated hitter)...earned second team all-A-Sun honors after ending the regular season ranking fifth in the conference in batting average (.377) and second in RBI (60)...led the squad in hits, doubles, home runs, total bases, slugging percentage and sacrifice flies...also led the team with 27 multi-hit and 16 multi-RBI games, a .422 average with runners on (49-116), a .439 average with runners in scoring position (36-82) and an .810 average with runners on third with less than two outs (17-21)...led the team with a .425 average (31-73) versus left and a .354 average (52-147) against right-handed pitching...tallied second longest hitting streak of the season (13) and enters the 2009 season with an 11-game hitting streak in tact...in his final game of the year, he batted 3-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a season-high two home runs against Kennesaw State (5/16)...went 3-for-5 with a home run and a season-best six RBI at UNF (5/2)...batted 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI against Mercer (4/6)...finished 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBI at Georgia Southern (4/8)...earned A-Sun Academic All-Conference honors and was named to the Dean’s List.
Prior to JU: Two-year starter as a catcher and first baseman for Indian River Community College…as a sophomore, he earned second team all-conference honors after batting .383 with seven home runs and 29 RBI…as a freshman, he batted .303 with four home runs, nine doubles and 32 RBI while throwing out 12-of-16 base runners…named to the Dean’s List each year.
High School: Four-year starter as a catcher and third baseman for Bill Hicks at Fort Pierce Central High School…as a senior, he led the Cobras to a 26-3 record and a district title after batting .511 with seven home runs, seven doubles and 29 RBI while throwing out 24-of-27 base runners en route to district tournament MVP honors…also named first team all-state, all-area and all-conference that same season…as a junior, he was named third team all-state, first team all-area and first team all-conference after hitting .486 with six home runs, five doubles and 32 RBI…as a sophomore, he was named second team all-area and first team all-conference as a third baseman after batting .390 with three doubles and 11 RBI in only 14 games due to mononucleosis…as a freshman, he was named second team all-state and first team all-area as a third baseman after hitting .585, with five home runs, nine doubles and 41 RBI…in AAU play, he was a member of the Florida Hawks…named to Dean’s List, was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class.
