JU earns votes in both major national polls
The JU football team continues to receive national recognition as they received votes in both national polls in the preseason for the first time in the history of the program.

The Sports Network Top 25, voted on by national media and sports information directors from across the country, was released late Wednesday with the Dolphins receiving 16 points for the poll.

Earlier this week, the Dolphins received 11 points in the FCS Coaches Poll.

”To receive votes for the top 25 in the preseason is recognition of last year’s success and the talent we have returning this year,” said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. “We can’t rest on last year’s success. We have stressed in preseason camp that right now we’re just a one-year wonder. Championship programs are the ones that are in contention for the title every year.”

A RUN AT THE PLAYOFFS?In past seasons, PFL teams have been in the conversation for an at-large bid to the NCAA Playoffs.

According to Chuck Burton at CollegeSportingNews.com, he’s picking the Dolphins to finish 10-1 and give the NCAA committee fits.
