Josh McGregor named PFL Offensive Player of the Week
After being responsible for three of JU’s four touchdowns in a 27-21 win over Davidson, Josh McGregor was named Pioneer Football League Offensive “Player of the Week” on Sunday.

The honor is the second for the sophomore quarterback who threw for two touchdowns and had his first rushing touchdown of the season. He finished the game completing 18-of-28 passes for 261 yards – the seventh time in his career he has thrown for 250 yards or more in a game.

“Josh had a good game in leading our offense,” said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. “As a quarterback, you’re the leader of the offense. He did a lot of little things well, but this award is a tribute to the team effort as we had a lot of guys make some plays for us.”

McGregor’s two passing touchdowns gives him 33 for his career, moving him alone into third place on the school’s all-time list and just six touchdowns away from the school record.

His 11-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter was his third career rushing touchdown and the first for him since the regular season finale last year against Dayton. The last score capped a nine-play, 63-yard drive – one of four scoring drives of 60 yards or more that he led during the game.

The Dolphins will put their seven-game win streak in PFL play on the line as they travel to face Marist for the first time. Kickoff is set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
