After record setting performances, junior quarterback Josh McGregor and junior defensive lineman Rolando Fines were named Pioneer Football League Offensive and Defensive “Player of the Week” respectively.

McGregor threw a school-record seven touchdowns in directing the offense to another 500-yard day. Fines wreaked havoc in the Morehead State backfield, tying Bradley Burns’ school-record 3.5 sacks as JU held the Eagles to just 20 yards rushing en route to a 61-17 win.

For his efforts, McGregor was named the national “Offensive Performer of the Week” and the “Quarterback Performer of the Week” by the College Football Performance Awards. Fines was named honorable mention “Defensive Line Performer of the Week.”

Josh Philpart joins the group as an honorable mention “Wide Receiver Performer of the Week” after five catches for 58 yards and three touchdowns.

McGregor’s seven touchdown passes is tied for the most by a quarterback in the Football Championship Subdivision this season and his 353.9 passing efficiency ratings is the best by any quarterback in the country by more than 20 points.

It is the third time this season that McGregor has won the PFL top honors and the second time he’s won the national award.

Fines led the Dolphins with nine tackles, racking up his school-record tying 3.5 sacks along with 4.5 tackles for a loss. JU finished the game with six sacks and nine tackles for a loss.
