Sunday Practice Report
The Dolphins got their first taste of pads Sunday as they wore uppers – shoulder pads with helmets and weren’t shy about using them.

The Big Picture: Weather was a player again in the late afternoon session as the air temperature reached 104 at one point. A short rain shower made an appearance a little past mid-way. Finally, about 5:10 p.m. practice was called with lightning in the area. Before that, the defensive backs look crisp in early drills and there were some forceful collisions all around with the pads on.

Highlights: Besides the DBs, WR Kendryk Boyd made a diving catch on a throw from QB Josh McGregor. In team drills, both sides took turns looking sharp, first the offense then the defense.

From The Players: RB J.J. Laster: “I’m doing really well. We’re all keeping together being positive. The offensive line, we’re all working together. We stayed over the summer so everything’s clicking together. The whole team chemistry is really good. I’m healthy, I’ve got a little flexibility and feeling really good for the season.’’

From The Coaches: Running backs coach Kerry Webb: “J.J. (Laster) looks good, he had a good summer. Keith Dawson is coming off an injury but is starting to get his legs back and look like his old self. I really like our freshmen so far, they are really picking up the system well. We’re excited to get into full gear here soon and see what everybody can do.’’
