Cypher named preseason All-American
JU senior offensive lineman Chad Cypher has been named a preseason first-team All-American by Beyond Sports Network.

For Cypher, a 6-5, 290-pound left tackle, it is his first-ever recognition on the national level.

“This is a great honor for the team and the program,’’ Cypher said. “I always try to go out and do the right thing and give back to the team and this is for them, too.’’

Cypher, from Fort Myers, Fla., played in 10 games in each of his first three seasons with the Dolphins and is a three-year letter-winner.

The communications major credits several coaches for his success.

“This is a great honor but with coach (Andy) McLeod (offensive line), coach (Jerry) Crafts (asst. off. line) and (head) coach (Kerwin) Bell, I have been coached very well,’’ he said. “They teach every day and I try to correct from film every day, technique, technique, technique, to be the best player I can be.’’
