JACKSONVILE, Fla. (AP) - Jon Turner caught a 43-yard scoring pass from Gary Cooper late in the third quarter and Jacksonville used a strong fourth-quarter defensive effort to beat Virginia-Wise 20-13 Saturday.

Turner out-jumped two Cavalier defenders to grab the winning pass, breaking a 13-13 tie at the time. He finished the game with three catches for 74 yards.

Jacksonville's only other touchdown came when D.J. Walton took a low line drive punt by Virginia-Wise kicker Andrew Thompson and returned it 17 yards for a score. The Dolphins (5-2) added a pair of field goals by Chris Brown from 26 and 19 yards.

Virginia-Wise (3-4) scored its first touchdown on an 11-yard run by freshman Ray Graves. Graves led all rushers in the game with 96 yards on 21 carries.

The Cavaliers tied the score at 13-all midway in the third quarter when cornerback Deandre Lewis picked off a Gary Cooper pass and returned it 53 yards for a touchdown. Jacksonville's Linj Shell kept the score deadlocked when he blocked the extra point attempt.
