Davidson, N.C. (AP) - Mike Chase caught three touchdown passes to lead Davidson in a 28-10 win over a penalty plagued Jacksonville on Saturday.

Leading 12-10 at the half, the Wildcats (1-1, 1-0 Pioneer Football League) forced Jacksonville to punt on the opening drive of the third quarter. The Dolphins pinned Davidson inside the 5 on the punt, but a penalty made Jacksonville punt again.

Another penalty for catching interference on the second punt gave the Wilcats the ball at their own 33.

The Dolphins then racked up 35 yards in penalties, leading to a 14-yard touchdown pass from Paul Nichols to Chase for a 19-10 lead.

For the afternoon, Jacksonville (1-1, 0-1) was flagged for 13 penalties for a total of 123 yards.

On the Dolphins next possession, a snap sailed over the punter Brett Keener's outstretched hands and into the end zone. Keener fell on the ball for a safety and an 11-point Davidson lead.

Late in the third quarter, Chase hauled in his sixth catch of the day for a 28-yard touchdown, sealing the 28-10 victory.
