Football Drops 14-7 Decision To Presbyterian

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Tim Pope caught two touchdown passes from Nick Harris and Presbyterian's defense held on as the Blue Hose beat Jacksonville 14-7 Saturday.
Harris and Pope combined on the Presbyterian's first series of the game when the 6-foot-3 sophomore receiver got behind two Jacksonville defenders to record his first collegiate touchdown.
Presbyterian added to its 7-0 halftime lead on the opening series of the second half when Harris and Pope completed a 7-play, 72-yard march.
Pope eluded defensive back Trey Wellington to haul in a 30-yard scoring toss from Harris. Ryan Noll scored an extra point to give Presbyterian a 14-0 lead with just under four minutes gone in the half.
Harris finished 12-of-19 for 167 yards and two TDs. He shared playing time with Devin Scott, who was 7-of-15 for 55 yards.
Jacksonville scored midway into the third quarter when backup quarterback Kyle Hicks connected with Jon Turner for a 59-yard reception down to the 7-yard line. On the next play, Emmett Akins scored from 7 yards out for Jacksonville's lone score.
