Green and White game set for Saturday at 10 a.m.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Four weeks of training, learning, sweating and hard work come to a conclusion on Saturday as the Jacksonville football team holds its annual "Green and White" game at 10 a.m.

The Dolphins' spring practice schedule comes to a conclusion with the game that will feature the first team lineup wearing the green jerseys against the rest of the team, which will wear the white jerseys.

"This is going to be an opportunity for a lot of guys to get reps and see what they have," said JU head coach Kerwin Bell. "We've thrown a lot at these guys in the past four weeks, but we need to finish this spring strong so we can have some momentum going into the fall."

In the second scrimmage of the spring, the JU offense looked good early, but the defense stole the show - turning up the pressure on the quarterbacks which in turn created some turnovers.

"One of the things that I'm going to be looking for is who has improved and learned from their mistakes in the scrimmages," Bell said. "We made a lot of mistakes last week and worked on those this week so we won't make them twice."

While Bell's offense is suffering some injuries along the front five, the defense has clearly developed well in the spring. The defensive backs are playmakers that are more than capable of making game-changing plays at any time.

Having those stoppers in the defensive backfield has allowed the front seven to bring blitzes from various directions to force pressure, thus creating turnovers.

In last week's scrimmage, Robson Noel picked off two passes for touchdowns to lead the effort as the defense picked off a total of seven passes.

The game will start at 10 a.m., and following the conclusion of the game, Bono's BBQ will be on hand selling plate lunches for $10.
