Dolphins Capture Highest Fall GPA

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Before the start of the 2016-17 season, Jacksonville University Athletic Director Alex Ricker-Gilbert asked his student-athletes to make this their best year yet, both athletically and academically.

The Dolphins have accepted the challenge and enter the new year on the heels of their highest departmental term grade point average (3.155).

Sixteen of JU's 20 teams finished the fall semester with a 3.0 or better with women's golf leading the way at 3.8841, and nine teams improved their GPAs from last fall.

"I am overjoyed by the continued dedication to academics that our student-athletes maintain," said Lauren Cevis, Jacksonville's Assistant AD of Student-Athlete Services. "Setting the bar even higher this semester, by earning the highest ever fall semester GPA recorded to date, our student-athletes truly embody the student-first mentality."
