Tommy Swindell
One of the leaders of the first JU football team in 1996, Swindell went on to have a storied career at JU. A star at linebacker, he became one of the top defensive players in I-AA, earning Mid-Major All-America honors in 2000, as well as all-conference honors. He set the bar high for the defenders coming after him, racking up 265 career tackles, which is now the second-highest total in program history, to go along with his 37 career tackles for a loss, which is third all time.. His 103 tackles in 2000 remains the most in school history.
