Andrea Pressley
There have been some tremendous athletes to come through the JU track & field program in certain events. But Andrea Pressley was more than just a one trick pony – she excelled in several disciplines on a national level.

The list of honors speak for themselves:

  • A three-time NCAA Championship participant
  • An All-America honoree
  • An All-Conference selection 11 times
  • Scored in nine different events for JU
  • Set the school record in the heptathlon
  • Member of the school-record setting 4 x 100 meter relay team

The honors are just part of Pressley’s career.

She performed on the biggest stage in the college track & field world – finishing fourth at the national championship to earn All-America honors, becoming the second Dolphin to earn the national recognition in track & field.

While laying the foundation for the future success of the track & field program at JU, she graduated from JU with her degree and is now a teacher in Jacksonville.

“Not only is Andrea a tremendous athlete, but she is a tremendous person,” said JU head track & field coach Ron Grigg, who coached Pressley during her career. “She made a significant contribution to our program and along with Monique Tubbs, set the standard at JU.”
