Will Jones
Will Jones enters his first season as an assistant coach at Jacksonville University.

Jones brings an impressive resume to JU, having starred at South Carolina State and leading the Bulldogs to the 2003 conference title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. He has cut his teeth in the coaching industry with stops at Okaloosa-Walton, South Carolina State, Lemoyne-Owen, Tennessee State and Charleston Southern.

“We are happy to have a young man with Will’s talents join our staff,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. "He has extensive recruiting contacts throughout the south-east that should help us in the near future."

Prior to his two years at Charleston Southern, Jones was an assistant coach for two years at Okaloosa-Walton College. While at O-W, Jones helped the program compile a 48-14 overall record and send 12 players to Division I NCAA programs, including four players to the SEC.

Jones also served as an assistant coach at his alma’ mater, South Carolina State, during the 2006-07 season. He had another one year stint as an assistant at Lemoyne-Owen College from 2005-06. Jones spent two years as a graduate assistant at Tennessee State University from 2003-05, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.

During his playing days, Jones was a team captain his senior year at South Carolina State, leading the Bulldogs to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship in 2002-03, defeating Hampton to advance to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He was a member of the MEAC All-Academic Team from 2001-03 and earned Black Voices Academic All-America honors as well.

He graduated from South Carolina State in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science.
