Will Jones is an up-and-coming assistant basketball coach who enters his third season at Jacksonville University.

Jones has built an impressive resume, having starred at South Carolina State and leading the Bulldogs to the 2003 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title for a spot in the NCAA Tournament, later cutting his teeth in the coaching trade with stops at Tennessee State, Lemoyne-Owen, South Carolina State, Okaloosa-Walton and Charleston Southern.

At JU, Jones' duties include overseeing the basketball budget, scheduling, recruiting, player development, academics and all other projects assigned by Head Coach Cliff Warren. In 2012, Jones was selected to the prestigious NCAA–ACE program, which highlights some of the best men’s and women’s assistant basketball coaches from across the country.

During his time at Charleston Southern, Jones helped the Buccaneers to their best record in more than 15 years and recruited two All-Conference performers.

Prior to his two years at CSU, Jones was an assistant coach at Okaloosa-Walton College. During his two-year tenure at O-W, Jones helped the program compile a 48-14 overall record and sent 12 players to Division I NCAA programs, including four players to the SEC.

Jones also served as an assistant coach at his alma mater, South Carolina State, during the 2006-07 season. He had another one-year stint as an assistant at Lemoyne-Owen College in 2005-06. Prior to joining the full-time ranks, Jones spent two years as a graduate assistant at Tennessee State University from 2003-05.

During his playing days, Jones was a team captain his senior year at South Carolina State, leading the Bulldogs to the MEAC Championship in 2002-03, defeating Hampton to advance to the first round of the NCAA Tournament. He was a member of the MEAC All-Academic Team from 2001-03 and earned 2003 Black Voices Magazine Academic All-America honors as well.

Jones is also the Founder of the Will Jones Future Star Basketball Camp in his home town of Moncks Corner, S.C. A 2002 graduate of South Carolina State University with a bachelor's in sport communication, Jones went on to receive his master's in sport administration from Tennessee State University in 2005.
