Dolphins look to bounce back at ETSU
After a rough start to the Atlantic Sun Conference schedule, the JU men’s basketball team looks to bounce back in a rematch of last year’s A-Sun Tournament title game at ETSU on Monday.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., with the game being broadcast on 1010XL as the Bono’s Barbecue Pregame Show will set the scene starting at 6:45 p.m. Fans can also watch the game on www.ASun.tv.

The Dolphins (1-6, 0-1) are coming off a rough offensive outing in which Ben Smith was the only JU player to score in double figures. A lot of Jacksonville’s problems can be traced to its turnovers, as the Dolphins committed 24 turnovers with Campbell converting them into 24 points.

“We don’t typically turn the ball over that many times and that is something we will stress in preparation for ETSU,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “ETSU is a good team that always plays well at home.”

With senior forward Lehmon Colbert out the last two games, sophomore Tevin Galvin has moved into the starting lineup and performed well. He led the Dolphins with eight rebounds against Campbell and has scored at least seven points in the last two games.

Another rising star is freshman center Glenn Powell. In the last three games, Powell has scored eight points in each game – giving the Dolphins a much needed inside presence.

One of the bright spots to the rough start to the season is the Dolphins rebounding ability. JU has won the battle on the boards in the last six games, with at least a five-rebound edge in four of those outings.

The game also brings the two teams that were left standing in the finals in Nashville at the A-Sun Tournament, with ETSU running away from JU in the title game. Since joining the league, the Bucs have won all three meetings against the Dolphins at home.
