Marcus Allen signs professional contract in Austria
Cliff Warren’s first signee when he became the head coach at JU is now playing professionally.

Marcus Allen, who graduated after leading the Dolphins to the Atlantic Sun Conference title in 2008 and a spot in the NIT, has signed with UBSC Graz in Austria. Allen comes on board 17 games into the season as Graz looks to move up the standings in Austria “A” league.

“This is a great opportunity for Marcus to continue to play basketball and see the world,” Warren said. “Not everyone can play in the NBA and the chance to play overseas is a unique experience that is very rewarding.”

Allen had a stellar career at JU, finishing tied for 14th on the school’s all-time scoring list with Artis Gilmore at 1,312 points. He also finished seventh in JU history in rebounds, pulling down 808 in his career.

He currently stands atop JU’s all-time games played list with 117 games, with Ben Smith and Lehmon Colbert looking to break that this season.
