Riding a five-game winning streak, the JU men’s basketball team wraps up a two-game homestand on Saturday against Florida Gulf Coast.

Tipoff is set for 3:15 p.m. in the second half of a doubleheader with the JU women’s team. The game will be broadcast live on 1010XL with Barry Milligan and Artis Gilmore calling the action. Fans can also watch the game live on ASun.TV.

Jacksonville (5-1, 1-0 A-Sun) saw four Dolphins score in double figures against Stetson, led by Tevin Galvin’s career-high tying 15 points. The balanced scoring has shown up throughout the first six games as five different Dolphins have led the team in scoring.

The Dolphins defense has been suffocating as well. JU has held its last three opponents to 61 points or less, forcing at least 17 turnovers in each contest.

“We stress every day that we have to play hard on defense for the entire 40 minutes,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “We’re doing some good things, but we’ve got to continue to get better each day.”

NOTES…
- Senior Ayron Hardy enters the game needing 80 points to become the 27th player in program history to join the 1,000-point club.
- JU opened A-Sun play with a win for the fourth time in Cliff Warren’s six seasons with the Dolphins.
- Freshman Keith McDougald scored 13 points against Stetson, his second straight game in double figures.
-Only eight times previously in JU’s history that dates back to 1957 have the Dolphins gotten off to a 5-1 start.
