JU looks to bounce back against USC Upstate
The JU men’s basketball team looks to get a split on its two-game road trip as they face USC Upstate on Sunday.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m., with the game being broadcast on 1010XL. Fans cans also watch the game on ASun.TV.

JU (16-8, 10-5 A-Sun) has won all three of its previous trips to Upstate and is looking to bounce back after a slow start doomed the Dolphins at ETSU on Friday night.

“Upstate is a well coached team that took us to overtime at home earlier this year,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “We know that we have to come out ready to play from the opening tip.”

One of the bright spots from the game was the play of the bench, which stepped up to score 29 points for JU – led by Keith McDougald’s 13 and Keion Palmer’s career-high 10.

Palmer had a solid all-around game, swatting a career-best six shots as well, causing problems in the lane for ETSU.

Another milestone is within reach for JU’s seniors Ayron Hardy and Travis Cohn. The duo will play in their 120th career game on Sunday, moving them into a tie for third place on the all-time games played list at JU. They will tie the school record of 125 set by Ben Smith in the A-Sun Conference Tournament.
