USA Blog #11: Winning and Working
Today is game day vs. Egypt. Now, the games take on more importance as our tournament begins with pool play.

Shootaround and practice before the game in the gym was only 45 minutes. The guys spirits were good and we seemed very confident after practice.

Our pregame meal at Noon was pasta, small chunks of chicken, and veggies - it was pretty good.

After the meal, I'm off to the gym - time to scout Serbia vs. China before we play afterwards.

We took care of business, beating Egypt 115 - 60. We started the game with a dunk and everyone played well! Joe from Memphis had 21. Leonard had 11 rebounds and as a team we were 13 for 24 from the 3-point line.

No rest for the weary or time to celebrate. Stayed at the gym to watch Korea vs Canada then back to do a scouting report on Serbia.

Once I got back to the hotel, we met with the team briefly as I went over the scout for Serbia. Afterwards, the boys are looking for ice cream - and that's with daylight still at 10 p.m. It's CRAZY!

I got a chance to talk to one of my former players, Marcus Faison, on Skype. He lives and plays professionally in Belgium - I can't believe he has been playing for 11 seasons. I need to ask him for a donation!!!
