In front of more than 100 fans and supporters in the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Jacksonville University head coach Cliff Warren discussed the upcoming basketball season on Tuesday afternoon at the annual Tipoff Luncheon.

The Dolphins are coming off their second straight 20-win season and third straight postseason appearance, advancing to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Jacksonville also picked up two wins over teams from BCS leagues, including the first win at Florida since 1994.

“We have a young group that is adjusting to its new roles,” Warren said. “But, I want to thank you in advance for your support this upcoming season. It means a lot to our young men to see you in the stands each home game.”

Jacksonville returns five players that started at least one game last season, with sophomore Keith McDougald being the team’s leading scorer returning from last year – averaging 9.6 points per game.

Joining him with starting experience is seniors Delwan Graham and Tevin Galvin, as well as juniors Russell Powell and Glenn Powell.

The Dolphins season opener at Florida State has been picked up to be broadcast on ESPN3 on Friday night. Kristen Ludlow and Jacob Ridenhour will have the call from Tallahassee.

Jacksonville will now have at least six games on television this year, including games at Florida (Sun Sports), Marquette (32 Sports), Alabama (Comcast Sports Southeast) and both games against North Florida (Comcast Sports Southeast).
