Dolphins return to Swisher for Upstate on Monday
The Jacksonville men’s basketball team returns to campus on Monday night, looking to find some magic in the hallowed halls of Swisher Gymnasium when they host USC Upstate at 7 p.m.

Jacksonville (2-15, 0-6 A-Sun) is looking to break a 13-game losing streak in its final home game during the month of February. The Dolphins will face a Spartans (10-8, 4-2) team that is coming off a win at UNF on Saturday and in the thick of the A-Sun title race.

Since returning to the Downtown area for all of its home games for the 2006-07 season, JU has lost just twice in its 12 games in Swisher.

“I’m encouraged that our guys are still working hard each and getting better,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “Our biggest problem right now is playing hard on both ends for 40 minutes.”

On Saturday, JU struggled during the final 10 minutes of the first half – turning a 15-14 deficit into a 38-19 margin at the intermission. The Dolphins battled back to cut the lead to 11 in the second half, but could get no closer.

Lost amid the loss was the coming out party for freshman guard Evin Graham. The Fort Myers native scored 10 points, hitting all four shots from the floor while dishing out one assist and one block.

SERIES vs. UPSTATE

Monday’s game will be the eighth meeting in series history, with JU owning a 6-1 lead in the series thanks to sweeping the season series the last two years.
