JU fills schedule with trip to Georgetown
The JU men’s basketball team will make a return appearance in the nation’s capital this season as they travel to face Georgetown on Nov. 17.
The contest fills the Dolphins’ schedule for the upcoming season, giving JU five contests against BCS conference opponents – joining trips to Baylor, Georgia Tech and Ohio State.
The Dolphins faced the Hoyas last season, snapping a 38-year drought in the all-time series.
“We are excited about the opportunity to face such an elite program as Georgetown again,” said JU head coach Cliff Warren. “It was great for us to connect with our alumni base in the D.C. area that cheered us on last season and we look forward to seeing them again in November.”
With this addition to the schedule, the Dolphins’ first six games will be against teams that either played in the NCAA Tournament last year or expected to play this season.
“We always strive to have a tough non-conference schedule to give our young men a chance to gain experience that will help them during the most important part of our schedule – conference play,” Warren said.
