Second Annual Free JU Basketball Night Presented by the MPS Group on Dec. 4
On Dec. 4, the MPS Group and the JU Athletic Department are inviting the city of Jacksonville to come out for a night of basketball as JU hosts Belmont in a doubleheader to start Atlantic Sun Conference play.

Admission and parking are free for the doubleheader that starts with the women’s game at 5 p.m., followed by the men’s game, which is set to start at 7:15 p.m.

The men’s game features a rematch of the A-Sun Tournament Championship game last year, which Belmont won to claim its third straight A-Sun title.

At halftime of the men’s game, the JU football team will be honored as they receive the Pioneer Football League championship trophy. The next day, they will leave for Albany, N.Y., to face UAlbany in the third-annual Gridiron Classic.

“This is an exciting time around Jacksonville Athletics and we’re appreciative to the MPS Group for their willingness to make this event happen,” said JU director of athletics Alan Verlander. “It is a great opportunity for the community to see what our programs are about for free. Last year was a great success with more than 6,000 in attendance and we hope to beat that number this year.”
