NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Music City has been turned into a city of horrors for the JU men's basketball team as the Dolphins dropped their second straight game, an 83-70 decision at Lipscomb.

The Bisons shot the lights out, hitting 67.4 percent from the floor and missing just 14 shots in the game. Four Bisons finished in double figures, led by Adnan Hodzic's game-high 20 points as he was 8-of-9 from the floor.

The Dolphins (12-11, 8-3 A-Sun) fall out of first place in the A-Sun for the first time this season as Marcus Allen did not play in the game due to a knee injury. JU had only two players finish in double figures, getting 18 points each from Ben Smith and Lehmon Colbert.

Lipscomb (12-13, 6-5 A-Sun) won its fourth straight with four players in double figures, led by Adnan Hodzic's game-high 20 points. Eddie Ard and Josh Slater added 17 each, with LaKory Daniels chipping in with 12.

"We didn't do a good job of getting out on their shooters early," said JU head coach Cliff Warren. "We've got to go back home and go back to work to correct some things defensively."

The Dolphins hit more than 50 percent of their shots in the first half and trailed by just one at the intermission. The second half wasn't as kind as JU hit just 34.5 percent from the floor, going 2-of-14 from behind the arc.

After hitting a season-high nine 3-pointers at Belmont, JU hit just four on Saturday, with Smith accounting for three of those.

Despite trailing by one at the half, the Dolphins came out running in the second half. JU went on a 9-2 run in the first three minutes as Ayron Hardy scored five of those to give the Dolphins a 48-42 lead.

Lipscomb answered with a run of its own to retake the lead, out scoring JU 9-2 over a three minute stretch to take a 51-49 lead.

JU was able to tie the game at 53, but the Bisons went on another spurt and pushed the lead to 13, 71-58, as Hodzic scored on a driving spin move in the lane with 4:57 left in regulation.

Jacksonville was able to cut the deficit to nine, but was unable to get any closer as the Bisons held on for the win.

The Dolphins trailed by one at halftime, 40-39, after trailing by as many as seven in the first 20 minutes. Smith had 13 points in the half, hitting two 3-pointers midway through the half.

JU returns home for the A-Sun "Game of the Week" on Friday against North Florida in the SunTrust River City Rumble. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
