Dolphins face UNF on Friday in SunTrust River City Rumble matchup

Feb. 12, 2008

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Three straight home games couldn't come at a better time for the JU men's basketball team.

The Dolphins (12-11, 8-3 A-Sun) open their final homestand of the season on Friday as they face UNF in the SunTrust River City Rumble in front of regionally televised audience on Comcast Sports Southeast.

Friday's game is the Atlantic Sun Conference "Game of the Week" as the Dolphins look to rebound after falling out of first place for the first time this season. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

"We've got a lot of things to work on as we get ready for Friday's game," said JU head coach Cliff Warren. "As we start the final stretch of the regular season, it is important for us to remember how we were successful and get back to doing that consistently."

Jacksonville is coming off a rough two-game road trip to Nashville, dropping games against Belmont and Lipscomb to fall into a tie for second place with ETSU. The Dolphins trail Belmont by a game heading into Thursday's action.

"We're focusing on us and the things that we can control," Warren said. "We have to focus on improving and getting better as a team. If we focus on that, everything else will take care of itself."

JU will welcome the return of Marcus Allen to the lineup after missing Saturday's game with an injury. The junior center is in the midst of one of the best streaks of his career, scoring 20 points or more in five of the last seven games to average 18.7 points per game during that span.

Lehmon Colbert has also seen his game rise to the occasion, averaging 21 points per game in Nashville over the weekend and moving into the top 15 in conference play in assist-to-turnover ratio.
