Jacksonville Men's Hoops Defeats Campbell, 75-56

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Senior guard Brandon Williams scored 18 of his game-high 24 points in the first half and tied a career high with eight rebounds as JU defeated Campbell, 75-56, Saturday night in TAAC play at Swisher Gymnasium. With the win, JU improves to 10-3 overall, 3-1 in the TAAC, while Campbell falls to 3-8, 1-2 in league play.
The Dolphins shot a season-high 53 percent from outside the arc connecting on 9-of-17 treys, while shooting 51 percent from the floor. JU limited the Camels to just 38 percent shooting for the game and forced 21 turnovers, which led to 23 points.
Zydrunas Stankus and Jonte Edwards each scored 10 for Campbell, while the TAAC's second-leading scorer Adam Fellers, scored just seven points on 2-of-6 shooting in 38 minutes. Fellers entered the game averaging 18 points per game overall and 25 points a game in league play.
JU led 20-19 with 6:58 to play in the first half, but went on an 11-0 run over the next 3:56 to take a 31-20 lead with 2:47 to play in the half. Campbell closed the gap with a 9-2 run and trailed 33-28 at the half. Edwards scored to open the second half and cut the lead to 33-30, but the Dolphins went on a 17-3 run to take a 50-33 lead and never looked back. JU's largest lead of the game was 23 with 10:16 to play.
