After losing a close one to China on Monday, it couldn't have gotten any
worse. Or could it? Well we played the mighty Greece. They have one of the major
professional leagues in the world today. We were up to the challenge. We
took it to Greece behind my 18 points and six-assists. We Had Greece on the ropes. With one minute to go, Greece was up one and I hit
a three-pointer to put us up two. Then, with 30 seconds left in the game,
Greece answered with another three to regain the lead by one. This turned
out to be the most exciting game of the tournament. We had a last shot at it, but a late turnover by the Virgin
Islands sealed the victory for Greece, 81-79. This was a Heartbreaking
event, because it knocked us out of contention for any medal.
Today was a new day and we were playing for pride. After losing to the
Asian Champs, China, and the European Champs, Greece, we played the African
champions, Angola. However, I was on tonight, going 4-of-7 from three-point
land, while scoring 23 points and handing out four assists to lead us to a
76-59 victory. We showed the world, that even though we are the smallest
nation here, we pack a lot of firepower. The Chinese nation once again loved
us. It's just a shame that we were placed in the hardest groups of the
competition. Tommorrow we play for pride. We felt that the only teams that could have beat us were China and the U.S.A,
but Greece snuck by us. However, there will be no other.
See you tomorrow.
