Atlantic Sun Play ... The Dolphins dropped their A-Sun opener for the first time in four seasons with a 70-68 heartbreaking loss to Troy St. on Saturday. The Dolphins have not opened the conference schedule with consecutive losses since the 1998-99 season, when the Dolphins started 0-5 in the league before winning seven of their last 11 games.

Pupil vs. Teacher ... Tonight's game will be the 10th meeting between Mercer head coach Mark Slonaker and JU head coach Hugh Durham. Slonaker was an assistant coach under Durham at Georgia from 1989-95 and was a four-year letterwinner at Georgia as a player from 1976-80. Slonaker, who is 2-7 all-time against Durham, was the Bulldogs' team captain as a senior in 1980.

Dribbles ... Head coach Hugh Durham was honored on Sunday in Athens, Ga. as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Georgia's 1983 Final Four team. The Bulldogs lost to eventual national champion, North Carolina St., 67-60. It was Durham's second Final Four appearance (1972, Florida St.).
