NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Freshman forward Haminn Quaintance had his third double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead four Dolphins in double figures as JU shot a season-best 56 percent en route to an 82-65 win over Lipscomb Monday night at Allen Arena in Nashville. It was the first A-Sun win for the Dolphins, who improve to 6-4 overall, 1-2 in league play.

Junior center Jure Lozancic added 17 points and senior forward Nolan McBride had 14 points, seven rebounds and a career-best four assists. JU outrebounded the Bisons (4-8, 1-3 A-Sun) 42-22 and scored 42 points in the paint. Riley Didion came off the bench to score 11 points and match a career high with three steals, while Jarred Stockton added six points and six rebounds.

JU used a 13-3 run to end the half to break open a two-point game and take a 40-28 lead at the break, despite having three players in foul trouble. The Dolphins extended the lead to 59-37 at the 12:22 mark by dominating Lipscomb in the paint with seven of their first nine buckets in the second half around the goal. The Bisons cut the JU lead to 12 on three occasions, but the Dolphins hit 15-of-20 free throws for the game.

Chad Hartman led Lipscomb with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting, but managed just three points in the second half. James Poindexter scored all 13 points of his points in the second half. The Bisons' leading scorer, Brian Fisk, managed just five points, more than seven below his season average.

The Dolphins return to action on Friday, Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m. against Florida Atlantic at Swisher Gymnasium. The game will air live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast as the A-Sun Game of the Week. JU also hosts UCF on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 1 p.m. in a game broadcast live by the Sunshine Network and Fox Sports South.
