JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Corey Claitt, a 6-foot-3 guard from Palm Beach Lakes, Fla., has signed with Jacksonville as announced by JU head coach Cliff Warren on Friday.

Claitt, who can play both guard positions, is the fourth signee this spring for Warren and gives him a total of six new players for the 2006-07 season.

"Corey is an exceptional one-on-one player," Warren said. "He plays with an extreme amount of confidence and should compete for immediate playing time."

Claitt led Palm Beach Lakes to the Class 6A Final Four before falling to eventual state champion Miami-Norland. During his senior season, Claitt averaged 19.8 points, six rebounds and three assists per game.
