JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A new era begins in JU Basketball on Tuesday night.

The Dolphins move into their new home - the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena - with a new court to christen as JU hosts St. Leo on the new Billie N. Nimnicht, Jr. Court. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

The new court is named in honor of longtime JU benefactor and Board of Trustees member the late Billie N. Nimnicht, Jr. - the CEO of Nimnicht Chevrolet.

"We are extremely happy to honor Mr. Nimnicht for all of his support through the years by naming the court after him," said JU president Kerry Romesburg. "With our home games returning Downtown, we couldn't imagine a better opportunity to honor a family that has done as much as Mr. Nimnicht and his family has for the University."

A big crowd is expected to attend Tuesday's contest as JU sold more than 1,000 season tickets this year. The amount of season tickets sold is a drastic increase in the amount of season tickets sold since JU's departure from the Downtown scene in 1999.

"Everyone around the program is excited about getting to play at home," said JU head coach Cliff Warren. "The players are really excited about getting to play at the Arena. We're going to get a solid practice under our belts today to get us ready for what should be a really fun atmosphere for college basketball on Tuesday."
