Men's hoops signs Paul Kohlheim for 2007-08

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Paul Kohlheim, an athletic power forward from Tupelo, Miss., has signed to join the Jacksonville men's basketball team for the 2007-08 season on Tuesday.
Kohlheim, a 6-foot-6 power forward, averaged 22 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks per game as a senior at Tupelo High School to earn first team all-area honors and honorable mention all-state honors.
Kohlheim is the latest highly touted signee for the Dolphins, making the top 25 among Mississippi high school prospects - ranking third. Hoopscoop.com, one of the premier recruiting websites, has him ranked No. 228 in the nation.
"Paul is an extremely strong and athletic post player that brings toughness to our team," said JU head coach Cliff Warren.
A member of Mississippi's prestigious "Dandy Dozen," Kohlheim was second team all-area as a junior after averaging 16.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
A gusty player, Kohlheim broke his finger in the region championship this season and battled through it in a first round loss in the state playoffs.
"Paul is an incredible athlete with incredible strength," Tupelo coach David Ball said in an interview with the Clarion Ledger. "It makes him a really strong finisher around the rim. Paul can shoot it well, but he attacks the rim so well off the dribble. That makes him a matchup problem."
