JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU broadcasts will have a new home this season as the Dolphins will be heard on 1010XL as announced by JU director of athletics Alan Verlander on Thursday.

"We are very excited about our games being carried on 1010XL," said JU director of athletics Alan Verlander. "The station has strong leadership and has created a great buzz around the town. With their strong signal, it allows us to reach out to more fans in the area."

1010XL, the new sports talk station in Jacksonville that will have a 50,000-watt signal later this year, will serve as the flagship station of the JU Sports Network.

"There are a lot of great things happening at Jacksonville University and we're more than happy to serve as the flagship station for their broadcasts this year," said 1010XL general manager Steve Griffin. "Our station is dedicated to covering sports in Jacksonville and having JU broadcasts on our station continues that dedication."

In addition to the new home for radio broadcasts, fans will also be able to follow the Dolphins with the new video streaming channel on from Play On! Sports, a division of Turner Broadcasting.

All JU home men's and women's basketball games will be aired on the video streaming channel, with fans that purchase a season ticket getting access to most of the Dolphins' road games as well.

JU will also air select men's and women's soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball games.

"The addition of video streaming creates a new avenue for parents, fans and boosters to follow JU athletics," Verlander said. "The video streaming channel allows us to create a new communications platform to spread the message of JU athletics. We are still in the planning stages on a few projects, but we will have a full lineup of programming when school starts in the fall."
