GSU Men And Jacksonville Women Take Twilight Titles

Statesboro, Ga. - The Jacksonville University cross country team finished first in the Women's University Division at the GSU Twilight Open at Mill Creek Regional Park Friday night. Landing finishes of second, third, eighth, ninth and tenth in the women's 4,000 meter race, the Dolphins held off GSU to finish with an overall best 32 points in the nine-team field.

Winning the women's event was Nikki Garland of Armstrong Atlantic who finished with a time of 13:50. Jacksonville's Adrianna Campos and April Nudo finished second and third respectively to help lead the Dolphins to the victory. Claytopn State finished second with 91 points, followed by Valdosta State (99), Armstrong Atlantic (106), North Florida (110), Georgia Southern (132), Mercer (150), Savannah State (196) and USC-Aiken (260).

In the men's four-mile race, Armstrong Atlantic used the first-place finish of Paul McRae (19:45) to win the College Division as well as the overall meet. AAU finished with a total of 54 points to beat out second-place finisher North Florida. Clayton State came in third (87), followed by Morehouse (102), Jacksonville (125), Valdosta State (142), Mercer (145) and Savannah College of Art and Design (203).
