Men’s cross country rounds out A-Sun Championships
Seniors Andrew Madel and Gene Sarsfield each paced the JU men’s cross country team at the A-Sun Championships on Saturday morning in Spartanburg, S.C.

Maedel was the top finisher for the Dolphins, who finished 11th overall, by running a time of 27:35.34 for 61st place. Sarsfield was solid in his final JU meet after producing a time of 29:56.78 (77th).

“I was happy with the way the freshmen ran today,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg. “It was also nice to see Gene break a personal best in his last JU meet.”

Freshman Esteban Mendez ran a time of 30:52.84 (79th), while freshman Sidney Houting registered a time of 31:34.15 (80th). Junior Patrick Abbey rounded out the JU runners with a time of 33:38.09 (84th).

Kennesaw State won the title again after recording 55 points to take the top spot.
